Apocalyptic Muffins for 2012
This is a strange commission: A "culture ark" in order to retrieve civilization after the 2012 apocalypse.
Located at a mountain slope in Sierra Nevada, Spain, and promoted by Belgian foundation, we were asked to develop the spatial concept to ensure the survival of 20 families and thousands of books for three years.
We were interested in atomization and circulation. Atomization of the big dome space they propose to us and the circulation among those muffins-spaces. We proposed back. We were also interested in the way the underground world manifested upon the landscape.
Additionally we were excited about the contemporary superstitious, the "scientificisim" religious looking for immortality (so well explained by Houllebecq) and the experience holydays, which may provide an Apocalyptic Resort.
But it couldn't be done. Big engineering companies which are currently selling thousands of bunkers around the world, for the impending apocalypse eliminated us from the project. Theirs arguments: This project is extremely serious and your proposal is expensive and unviable. Of course, promoters believe in military discipline in case of global apocalypse.
They may have their reasons but that is all they have.
Nothing else.

Este es un encargo extraño.: Un arca de la cultura para recuperar la civilización despues del apocalipsis del 2012.
Promovido por una Fundación Belga y con localización en una ladera de Sierra Nevada, España, nos solicitan desarrollar el concepto espacial para que 20 familias y miles de libros sobrevivan durante tres años.
Nos interesaban la atomización de los espacios cupuliformes de supervivencia y las circulaciones entre ellos. También el reflejo en el paisaje de ese mundo subterráneo.
También las supersticiones contemporáneas y las religiones cientifistas en búsqueda de la inmortalidad que tan bién reflejaba M. Houllebecq.
Y el turismo de experiencia que puede proporcionar un Resort apocalíptico.
Pero no pudo ser.
Grandes empresas de ingeniería que estan vendiendo miles de bunkers en todo el mundo nos eliminaron del proyecto.
Los argumentos: Esto es muy serio y este proyecto es inviable y caro.
Claro, los promotores creen mas en la disciplina militar en el caso de apocalipsis global.
Y tienen razón, pero sólo eso.
